What to prepare for
Online assessment – stage one
TfL describes a strengths-based assessment that introduces TfL through multimedia and asks you to rank responses to hypothetical scenarios. It points candidates to Cappfinity's preparation hub.
Online assessment – stage two
Realistic, programme-specific scenarios, some answered by ranking options and some by recorded video. TfL says each video question gives you 2 minutes to prepare.
Ranking and eligibility check
TfL says candidates who meet the minimum benchmark are ranked on their stage-two score, and the highest-ranked are eligibility-checked and invited to the assessment centre.
Assessment centre
A virtual or in-person day, typically an interview plus a group exercise, presentation or technical task. TfL aims to give the outcome within one week, with a feedback call available.
Transport technology practice focus
Our original sample trains station and bus reliability data, journey-time arithmetic, reliable low-code app design and choosing the most effective response in user-centred scenarios.
