For each action, rate how effective it would be: Counterproductive (makes things worse), Ineffective (does not help), Fairly Effective (some help), or Effective (a good action). You score 2 points for the keyed rating and 1 point for an adjacent one.

You process building passes. The usual turnaround is two working days, but a supplier fault has pushed it to five. A contractor's site manager emails you.

Passes for Monday start — where are they?

I was told Tuesday. I have six people who cannot get on site without these passes and we are losing a full day's work. This is not what we agreed. Who is dealing with this?

Scenario 1 of 3. Rate each of the 4 actions.

A.Reply the same day with the revised date, apologise for the change, and offer escorted access for the six workers while the passes are produced.
B.Reply the same day explaining the supplier fault and confirming the new date.
C.Forward the email to your manager without replying, as she agreed the original timeline.
D.Reply that the Tuesday date was never guaranteed and the delay is the supplier's responsibility, not yours.
