What the test is measuring
The core skill is extracting the right figures, choosing the right operation and staying accurate while the clock is visible. Preparation should focus on percentages, ratios, averages, rates and interpreting tables or charts rather than advanced mathematics.
SHL has retired a number of legacy Verify Gen 1 products, which is why candidates can encounter newer and older product names across invitations and search results.
How to prepare efficiently
Start untimed and identify three things before calculating: what the question needs, which figures matter and which operation connects them. Introduce strict timing only when that process is reliable.
- Practise percentage change using the original value as the base.
- Check units before calculating.
- Estimate the answer range before choosing an option.
- Review correct guesses as carefully as wrong answers.
